Megan and her husband had the unique opportunity to make their exterior dreams come true after a hail storm damaged their siding and they were given the go ahead to completely replace it. They took it as a sign to let us help them design an exterior more in keeping with their style and less like the typical builder grade homes nearby. We helped them transform an ordinary exterior to something extra special with interesting architectural features and design elements.

Little white house before and after!! Still pinching myself. The home update we never planned on but we're oh, so grateful for. After a hail storm a couple summers ago, we got approval to have our damaged hardie board totally replaced. I've always dreamed of all the batten & white and we were excited to get to incorporate those into the update.

This home is typical for the area—lacking a bit of imagination and it definitely doesn’t reflect Megan’s personality or style.

With a few intentional upgrades, Megan’s home is now a place she loves to spend time. It’s a place where she and her family can enjoy time together and feel at peace.

They thought that the siding was just damaged from the hail storm, but it turned out that there was also mold hiding underneath.

All of the old siding came down and new went up…and then we could get our hands on it!

This was going to be a big change for this sweet family and we were so excited to be a part.

A new front door was key in adding elements of Megan’s personal style. Clean, modern and straight lines as well as letting in some natural light into her foyer were the things we were looking for in a front door.

I always recommend testing paint colors on all sides of the house and then look at it in the morning, afternoon and evening light. Those whites can change on you!

This front door was going to go, but we tested our black paint to find the perfect shade for the new front door.

We landed on Alabaster by Sherwin Williams for the exterior paint. It’s such a great white…clean, but not harsh. I guess that’s why I’ve used it several times now. It never disappoints.

The board and batten detail paired with the horizontal hardie board was one of the ways we took this home from ordinary to extra special.

Never underestimate the power of a new front door. This new sleek door painted Black Magic by Sherwin Williams gives this home a sophisticated, on-trend aesthetic. Brass hardware is the perfect finishing touch.

Finally, new lighting and cedar lintels above the garage door and window (like we used at our Matlock exterior remodel here) complete the exterior upgrade of Megan’s home. As it turned out, she didn’t have to wait on those dreams…she gets to enjoy her updated and upgraded home now and, hopefully, for many years to come.
